Dr. Hosoda-Urban's paper (both in English and Japanese) has been published in Yonago Acta Medica. This review article examines the trends in child abuse in both Japan and the United States, while considering socio-economic factors. Although Japan now reports more child abuse cases than the U.S., is this truly the case? What steps does Japan need to take moving forward?
